Working on a few new sketches of future concepts in fleur couture... here's a past collaborative work, created for annual floral fashion benefit Fleurotica.
This design, for those really into haut couture and runway shows will strike reminiscent of Valentino's 2010 Winter Runway show in Milan. While he began the dance with floral elements in that show, and has since run with it, as have other (hello, Dior!) I had to blow it full out- take it to its logical conclusion. 100% crafted by hand, entirely botanical, including the bolero base which was designed by Laura of organic felted cotton.
The bolero top had an accentuated collar, and was made entirely from paved galex leaves. It has since dried and held up surprisingly well!
We had a LOT of fun making the design. Fleurotica always rocks!
From concept sketch by Brian Skol to completion, photos by Stephanie Tarrant. Big love, as always to the Beth and the Anna Held team- if you ever need to send flowers in Chicago... *nudge*
